Cell Phone Battery FAQs

Smartphones with dead or dying batteries are no good for work or personal use. We offer a broad selection of cell phone battery replacement options for top phones from big-name brands, like Apple, HTC, LG, Samsung and more. We can also help you install your new battery if you come into a Batteries Plus location near you.

Our in-store experts will be happy to help you find your phone's model number, but if you want to find it yourself, it's easy.

For iPhones, go to Settings > General > About. To the right of "Model", you’ll see the part number. To see the model number, tap the part number. Need help finding your model?

For Samsung/Android Phones, go to the Android Settings menu and select "System", then "About Phone". Here you'll see the phone's model name or number.

We can help. If your make & model number aren’t appearing in the finder, bring your phone to your nearest Batteries Plus Bulbs, or give us a call. Our experts will be glad to help you out.

If your battery snaps out easily, you can replace your own battery. But if your phone battery doesn’t easily snap out, you probably have an embedded battery, which are more common in new phones. Embedded batteries can be changed, but you’ll want to leave that job to the experts. The pros at Batteries Plus Bulbs can supply and replace embedded cell phone batteries. Just bring your phone to us, we’ll take a look and give you a full assessment before any work is performed.

And if you’re just not sure, or you don’t want to risk breaking something, bring the phone to one of our stores. We’ll figure it out together.

We can help. Visit one of our stores before buying a brand new smartphone that you may not really need. Our experts can help you with your broken or cracked screen, damaged keypad, intermittent headphone jack, and a whole host of other common problems.

Getting a replacement battery is quick and easy at Batteries Plus Bulbs. Once your new battery is installed, use the following tips to keep it working properly:

  • Use the right charger. If you don't have the charger that came with your phone, or it no longer works properly, we can help you find the right charger to use with your phone. Using the wrong charger can damage your phone or battery.
  • Don't let your phone charge for more than 24 hours. It's tempting to plug your phone in to charge whenever you're not using it, but overcharging can put stress on your battery, shortening its overall lifespan.
  • Keep your phone and battery in a dry environment at or below room temperature. Exposure to sunlight, humidity or high temperatures can damage your battery, limiting its lifespan and reducing performance.
